Welcome to the first issue of Silver Tech Tips — where we keep tech simple, practical, and beginner-friendly.
This week’s tip is a small move that makes a big difference:
Press and hold instead of tap.
When you tap your screen, it opens or selects something right away.
But when you press and hold (for just one or two seconds), new options appear — like hidden menus, shortcuts, or extra tools.
Try it in these spots:
📱 Home screen
Press and hold an app to move it, remove it, or open a shortcut.
💬 Text messages
Hold down a message to copy, delete, or react to it.
📷 Photo gallery
Long press a photo to select multiple at once for sharing or deleting.
⌨️ Bonus tip
Press and hold the space bar while typing. You’ll be able to slide your finger to move the cursor, like a little mouse.
Your challenge this week:
Use the long press in 2 or 3 places on your phone. See what pops up — and don’t worry, you can’t break anything.
